Gamay is a red grape variety grown mainly in the Beaujolais region of France. It is renowned for its light, fruity and refreshing wines, with aromas of red fruits such as raspberry and cherry. Gamay is often vinified to be drunk young, notably in the Beaujolais Nouveau style, but it can also produce more structured, complex wines, notably in the Beaujolais crus.
