Delivery costs explained (excluding Prêt en bulles)
We're a family-run business committed to our terroir and the quality of our products. Each order is carefully prepared to guarantee perfect arrival.
Delivery charges only include :
- The cost of reinforced packaging to protect the bottles.
- Carrier charges.
We don't count the time spent preparing your orders, because every shipment is a pleasure, and to keep additional costs to a minimum.

Every shipment we make is covered by a full warranty. In the event of a problem, such as breakage or theft, we undertake to return the wine to you at no extra charge. All you need to do is provide proof of the damage, and we'll take care of the rest. Your satisfaction is our priorityWe're committed to making your experience worry-free.
Preparation and dispatch times
Once we have received your payment, we will prepare your order within a period of 2 to 5 working days. Shipping then generally takes between 2 and 3 extra days. In summerTo preserve the quality of our wines, we avoid shipping from Thursday onwards, to avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures in our warehouses. As a result, all summer orders are dispatched between Monday and Wednesday to guarantee optimum delivery.

Questions fréquentes
From how many bottles is delivery free?
From 12 bottles, that is two cases, delivery is free within France by Transporteur National — home delivery. That threshold matches the secure packing unit we use to ship glass bottles. Below it, or if you choose a pick-up point, the charge is shown in your basket before payment.
When is my order shipped?
Your order is prepared within 2 to 5 working days of payment being received, then shipping usually takes another 2 to 3 days. In summer, to avoid leaving bottles in the heat of a warehouse, we do not ship from Thursday onwards: summer orders leave between Monday and Wednesday.
Why do you not ship from Thursday onwards in summer?
Because a parcel sent late in the week spends the weekend in a warehouse. In hot weather, that wait is enough to spoil the wine. We would rather postpone shipping to the following Monday than deliver a bottle damaged by heat.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship to mainland France and Corsica, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom. The charge for your country is shown in the basket before you confirm.
Do I need to be there for the delivery?
Yes. The parcel is handed over against the signature of an adult, and the carrier is entitled to ask for proof of age: without it, the parcel cannot be delivered. Selling alcohol to minors under 18 is prohibited (article L. 3342-1 of the French public health code).
What does your guarantee cover in case of breakage or theft?
Write to contact@chateausaintlouis.fr with a photograph of the parcel and the bottles. We send the wine again at no extra cost: breakage and theft fall under the legal guarantee of conformity, not the right of withdrawal, so no return charge applies in that case.
